Detailed Description

In Creating and Changing Mindsets Movies of the Mind, educator Dr Robert K Greenleaf, using an analogical approach, explores the functioning and power of the mind. Dr Greenleaf shows how our mindsets are created by mental pictures ('movies') of both the past and the future, - rather than verbally - which we use to explore options and then make decisions. What we then 'emote' carries our intended messages, consciously or not. By developing strategies which link our actions to our mental processes (the movies of the mind), we can approach issues differently and also help ourselves and others to develop more productive behaviours resulting in sustained change, learning and growth.

In this highly pragmatic yet scholarly and thought provoking book, we explore 'four foundation mindsets' and are introduced to strategies and activities for working with young people.

Changing and Changing Mindsets is of particular interest and relevance to educators who, through their leadership, are interesting in facilating deep, meaningful and lasting learning and change.
